Moores Mill Auburn Neighborhood Guide for Buyers

Updated August 2026

Moores Mill is the Auburn address people say like it explains itself. It doesn't, especially if you're relocating and trying to picture what you'd actually be buying.

So here's the honest version. Moores Mill is a golf-anchored pocket of Auburn built around Moore's Mill Club, and shopping here means shopping inside the Auburn city market, where the citywide median sale price ran $494,087 in July 2026 (Auburn residential, Lee County Association of REALTORS®, July 2026 closed sales).

I'm going to give you what I can verify, tell you plainly what I can't, and skip the part where I invent a drive time I haven't clocked from your address.

The Bottom Line

  • Moores Mill is anchored by Moore's Mill Club at 1957 Fairway Drive, Auburn, AL 36830, a golf club with an 18-hole course, a fitness center the club lists at over 15,000 square feet, pools, tennis and pickleball, dining, and childcare (Moore's Mill Club, checked August 2026).
  • It sits inside the Auburn city market, and Auburn runs well above the wider area. Auburn's July 2026 median residential sale was $494,087 versus $406,260 across the full LCAR service area that same month (Lee County Association of REALTORS®, July 2026).
  • Auburn homes took an average of 54 days on market in July 2026, up from 49 days in July 2025 (Lee County Association of REALTORS®, July 2025 and July 2026 closed sales).
  • School zoning here is address-specific, not neighborhood-specific. Verify your exact address with the Auburn City Schools zone locator before you fall in love with a house.
  • Nobody publishes reliable subdivision-level pricing for Moores Mill. Ask me and I'll pull the actual comps for the streets you're considering.

Where Moores Mill Actually Sits

Moore's Mill Club lists its address as 1957 Fairway Drive, Auburn, AL 36830 (Moore's Mill Club, checked August 2026). The residential area shares its name with the club and the Moores Mill Road corridor that runs past it.

Here's where I'll be straight with you. I'm not going to hand you an interstate exit number or a "12 minutes to campus" claim, because those numbers get repeated across a dozen real estate pages and half of them are wrong. Drive times depend on which end of the corridor you're on and what time of day it is. They also depend on whether it's a home game weekend, which is not a joke. If you've ever tried to cross Auburn on a Saturday in October, you already know.

What I will do is drive it with you, at the hour you'd actually be driving it, to wherever you'd actually be going. That's a fifteen-minute conversation that beats any number I could put in a blog post.

One naming note that trips people up: the club brands itself Moore's Mill Club, with the apostrophe. The road and the general area are usually written Moores Mill, without one. Both are correct in their own lane, and MLS searches will use the no-apostrophe version.

Moore's Mill Club, The Anchor

The club is the reason this area reads the way it does. Straight from the club's own site (checked August 2026), members get:

  • An 18-hole golf course with a driving range and practice facilities
  • Resort-style swimming pools
  • A fitness center the club describes as over 15,000 square feet
  • Tennis and pickleball courts
  • A clubhouse with a restaurant and bar
  • Childcare services and children's programs
  • Event and meeting space

Two things I deliberately left out, because I couldn't verify them. You'll see the course designer credited to two different architects depending on which golf directory you land on. You'll also see a founding year that the club's own website doesn't publish anywhere. I'm not going to repeat either one as fact. If the course architecture matters to you, call the club and ask. They'll know, and they'll be happy you asked.

Also worth knowing before you assume: buying a home in the area and belonging to the club are two separate transactions. Membership terms, dues, and availability come from the club directly, not from a listing. Ask early if that's part of why you're looking here.

What The Homes Are Actually Like

Here's the thing most guides get wrong about a corridor like this. They treat it as one product. It isn't.

What I see along Moores Mill is range. Some of it is club-adjacent and built to that standard. Some of it is more ordinary Auburn housing that happens to share a road name. A listing that says "Moores Mill" in the subdivision field is telling you roughly where it is, not what it is, and that distinction costs people real money when they anchor on one number they saw online.

Auburn as a whole is splitting its volume between new and existing homes right now. In July 2026, 46 of Auburn's 114 residential closings were new construction and 68 were existing (Lee County Association of REALTORS®, July 2026). That's a live mix, and it means what's available to you here in any given month depends heavily on timing.

So I'd rather show you three houses on this corridor than describe an average that fits none of them. What I can tell you before we ever get in the car: check the lot, check the HOA paperwork, and check whether the club factors into the deal at all. Those three things move the value more than the elevation photo does.

What Auburn's Market Looks Like Right Now

I don't have credible neighborhood-level MLS statistics for Moores Mill alone, and neither does the portal page you were reading before this one. What I do have is the Auburn city data from my association, and that's the honest frame for what you'd be walking into.

Auburn's residential market in July 2026, per the Lee County Association of REALTORS®:

  • 114 properties sold (46 new construction, 68 existing)
  • Median sold price: $494,087
  • Average sold price: $543,162
  • Average days on market: 54 (63 for new construction, 47 for existing)
  • Total sold dollar volume: $61,920,415

Line chart of Auburn's median residential sold price by month, January through July 2026: $442,700 in January, dipping to $427,400 in February, and reaching $494,087 in July. Vertical axis starts at zero.

Auburn's median has climbed across 2026, though not in a straight line. February and March both landed below January, and the median eased again from April through June before July's jump (Lee County Association of REALTORS®, Auburn monthly closed sales, January through July 2026). Monthly medians move around on a hundred-odd closings, so read the trend rather than any single month.

Now compare Auburn to its neighbors in the same month.

Horizontal bar chart comparing July 2026 median residential sold price: Auburn $494,087, the full Lee County Association of REALTORS® service area $406,260, and Opelika $336,487. Bars are proportional from zero.

That gap is the thing to understand before you shop here. Auburn's median sat roughly $88,000 above the association's full service area in July 2026, and about $158,000 above Opelika (Lee County Association of REALTORS®, July 2026 closed sales). Moores Mill sits on the Auburn side of that line, and based on what I see listed and sold along this corridor, it generally runs toward the upper end of it.

Read that table together, not line by line. Fewer homes sold, prices up, and homes sitting a little longer. For a buyer in this price band, that combination usually means you have more room to think than you did a year ago. It does not mean sellers are panicking, because they aren't.

The School Question, Answered Honestly

This is where most Moores Mill pages either go silent or state a school zone as fact. I'm not doing either.

Auburn City Schools runs on a grade-band campus structure rather than one K-12 feeder per neighborhood. As of August 2026, the district's own site lists these campuses (Auburn City Schools, checked August 2026):

  • Elementary: Auburn Early Education Center, Cary Woods, Creekside, Dean Road, Ogletree, Pick, Richland, Woodland Pines, Wrights Mill Road, Yarbrough
  • Middle: East Samford School, J.F. Drake Middle School
  • Junior high: Auburn Junior High School
  • High: Auburn High School

A corridor the length of Moores Mill can span more than one elementary zone. So any page telling you "Moores Mill is zoned for X Elementary" is making a claim it can't support for every address on the road. Zones also get redrawn as the city grows.

Do this instead. Run your exact prospective address through the district's official School Zone Locator, linked from auburnschools.org. It takes about thirty seconds and it's the only answer that's actually yours.

If zoning is a deciding factor for you, tell me before we start touring. I'll check it address by address as we go, and I'll flag it if a house you love sits near a zone boundary.

What To Check Before You Write An Offer Here

Some of this is specific to Moores Mill and some of it is just how I work, but this is the list I'd hand a buyer heading into this corridor.

  • Club membership terms. Confirm current dues, initiation, and availability with Moore's Mill Club directly. Do not assume a listing's mention of the club means membership conveys.
  • HOA documents and any dues. Get them in writing early, and read what they cover and what they don't.
  • New construction versus existing. Auburn's July 2026 new construction averaged 63 days on market against 47 for existing homes (Lee County Association of REALTORS®, July 2026). Those are different negotiations with different timelines.
  • Lot specifics. Golf-adjacent lots come with their own considerations, from errant-ball exposure to easements and maintenance access. Walk the property line.
  • Your actual commute. At your actual hour. See above.
  • The exact school zone. See above, twice.

Questions I Get About Moores Mill

Is Moores Mill only for golfers?

No. The club is the anchor, but plenty of homes in the area belong to people who use the pool, the fitness center, or the dining room far more than the course. And plenty of owners aren't members at all. It's a separate decision.

How does the price band compare to the rest of Auburn?

Auburn as a whole sits above the region. Auburn's July 2026 median residential sale was $494,087 against $406,260 for the association's full service area (Lee County Association of REALTORS®, July 2026). In my experience listing and selling along this corridor, Moores Mill runs toward the upper end of Auburn's range.

Can I buy here without visiting first?

Yes, and people do it every year. I walk properties on video, tell you what the photos are hiding, and I'll say out loud when a house isn't worth your trip. That last part is the whole job.

Why won't you tell me the school zone?

Because I'd rather be right than fast. Zones are set by address and they change. I'll verify yours before you're emotionally invested in a kitchen.

Come See It With Me

Moores Mill is worth a look if you're shopping Auburn at this price point, and it's worth ruling out quickly if it isn't your fit. Either answer is a good outcome, and I'd rather get you there in an afternoon than in six weekends of guessing.

If you're thinking about buying or selling in the Moores Mill area, reach out. I'll pull the real comps for the streets you're considering, check your school zone by address, and tell you honestly what I'd do in your position. I'd love to help.
